Our Story
BookerLAB was founded in 2017 by Thomas Booker O’Hanlan. For years, Tom toyed with the idea of new, maintenance-free and more versatile motors for rotating speaker systems. He tested different technologies; then partnering with Sealevel Systems, Inc., Tom created Revolution: The Advanced Motor Controller. The first in the BookerLAB product family, Revolution embodies our commitment to providing relevant upgrades that maintain the quality of vintage musical instruments and supporting gear.
Our Roots
BookerLAB is Thomas Booker O’Hanlan and a team of engineers and marketing folks at Sealevel Systems, Inc., the business founded by Tom and Susan O’Hanlan in 1986. Tom has been honored with an Outstanding Lifetime Service Award in manufacturing and has committed his career to the highest quality and customer service standards. He took those values and applied them to his passion for music. Making friends through music, restoring classic instruments, and even resurrecting his high school band, Tom’s love for playing bass, collecting instruments and amplifiers has been with him for decades.
What's Next
First and foremost, BookerLAB is dedicated to furthering the appreciation and usefulness of the vintage Leslie® speaker and music associated with this wonderful invention. A secondary goal is to provide a portal of relevant and somewhat entertaining information relative to these topics. BookerLAB intends to be a technical resource for interesting news, tips, app notes, restoration and DIY projects and parts.
